In Winter
White flake-sky above
dark bare branches
of tall trees in my street
catch thick snow-flakes
as they fall.
My view of my street’s
blue-look looks cosy
from my window
with parked-cars covered
in thick-cut snow.
Thick flakes fall out
the flake-sky in the snow-road,
along the terrace
front gardens of homes
of people asleep or away.
The pure night-air glows
blue as thick-flakes fall
on tall tree branches like
a row of white flake-lights
lit blue in winter.
Snow Prints
Strange prints in the snow
lead to the pond to
where four fish swam.
Strange triangular shapes
deep-set in pure snow
on the wooden-bench.
I followed the prints along
the wooden-bench
covered in pure snow.
Across the snow
on the lawn toward the rockery,
I eyed each deep-set print
that puzzled me like
an unsolved mystery as I
thought about each print.
Had the four fish gone
with the strange prints
in the pure snow (no).
I saw where the prints
strangely ended between
the rockery and the pond,
and there were no fins
or fishtail prints
with the strange prints.

What is Papergirl
Papergirl is a community street art project originating in Berlin in 2006, which is now produced in cities worldwide. Art is collected from the local creative community, exhibited, and then, in the style of American paperboys, rolled up and distributed by bicycle in city centres, to random passers-by.
The project was started in response to it being a criminal offence to post art in public places within Berlin. As placarding is an integral part of urban art, local artist Aisha Ronniger conceived an alternative way of sharing art in public spaces, without focusing on any particular target demographic. Hence Papergirl was founded whereby works of art are handed directly to the general public at random, similar to how newspapers were distributed in decades past. (
