Portrait Photographer Derren Lee Poole

Our photos of Derren Lee Poole’s photography submission really do not do any justice to his work.

“When asked what type of photography I do, I often will just say gig photographer. It’s an easy description that most people will understand straight away and will get a measure of. Actually though, if you study my work more closely, you’ll notice I’m really portrait photographer, I just happen to take my portraits in a music performance environment rather than a studio.” (https://www.facebook.com/phunkography)

Another Place With Richard Tymond

Professional freelance photographer Richard Tymon submitted some beautiful Photography pieces especially for Papergirl Blackburn

The two shots of the Gormleys were taken at the same time, however the image of them ‘queuing’ is one that I have created especially for Papergirl. It was a response to the incredible amount of existing statues that are already on the beach.”
These spectacular sculptures by Antony Gormley are on Crosby beach. Another Place consists of 100 cast-iron, life-size figures spread out along three kilometres of the foreshore, stretching almost one kilometre out to sea
“The third image is of Woodhead Reservoir in Derbyshire, where I live. It was taken the night before the Tour de France came along the reservoir during the second day of the event.”

Seeing With The Third Eye With Jay Patel

Jay Patel director of Shiiiva Design submitted stunning photographs and postcards

“Shiiiva’s identity was inspired by the Hindu God ‘Shiva’ known as ‘The Lord of all Creations’. The icon is well perceived for having a third eye which symbolises knowledge, concentration and imagination hence the three i’s in shiiiva; innovative inspirational ideas. In addition representing the creative eye of the designers themselves.

Much of the inspiration comes from travelling locally and around the world to incredible places such as India, New York, San Francisco and Bali to name a few. By exploring the diverse continents of Asia, America and Europe, the designer breeds from both traditional and contemporary surroundings which shows beautifully in his work” (https://www.facebook.com/pages/shiiiva/298604730157543?sk=info)
